Ashbridge colleague Lewis looks to the future

Lewis Doncaster joined Ashbridge through the government-backed Kickstart scheme, which provided funding to employers to create six-month long placements for people between 16-24 years old.

The Kickstart scheme, as well as the support from his Ashbridge colleagues, helped Lewis to recognise his passion for roofing.

With a qualification in plastering already under his belt, Lewis began work at Ashbridge as a Yard Operative, which is an important role for the business, but Lewis had a vision.

Two years on, Lewis is looking to complete his NVQ Level 2 in Roofing, and in progressing his career at Ashbridge.

Lewis said: “I didn’t have the best start in life and I struggled through school. Having my little girl gave me a greater purpose in life, and I was inspired by the Kickstart opportunity to work with Ashbridge.

“The rest is history – I’m looking forward to progressing here and working with the people who have supported me from the start.”
